Navy Holds Key Drills In Arabian Sea, Indian Coast Guard Vessels Deploy Near International Maritime Boundary Of Gujarat Coast

Ahmedabad: The Indian Navy is extensively carrying out exercises in the Arabian Sea within its Exclusive Economic Zone, with warships on alert against any unusual activity, according to a media report. The Navy issued four green notifications for firing in a coastal area off the Gujarat coast.

Multiple anti-ship and anti-aircraft firings have been conducted in the region recently. Indian Coast Guard vessels are also deployed in forward areas near the International Maritime Boundary off the Gujarat coast. In naval terms, a “green notification” refers to a public notice issued by maritime authorities informing ships and aircraft about planned live-firing exercises in a specific area and timeframe.

The development comes amid tensions over Pahalgam attack in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed by terrorists. According to sources, the Indian Navy has been carrying out various exercises, with more demonstrations scheduled over the coming days. The firing notifications are valid from April 30 to May 3, 2025.

The Indian Navy is closely monitoring the situation and Pakistan’s activities in the region. The development comes amid heightened tensions between both countries after 26 people were killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. In recent days, Indian Navy ships have conducted multiple anti-ship missile firings in the Arabian Sea as part of ongoing naval exercises.
