Patna : The Janata Dal (United) has released its first list of 57 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Among the key candidates announced are Ratnesh Sada from Sonbarsa, Vidyasagar Nishad from Morwa, Dhumal Singh from Ekma, and Kaushal Kishore from Rajgir. Among the 57 names announced, Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary stands out. He has been given a ticket from Sarai Ranjan, reaffirming his central role in JDU’s poll strategy.
Other key candidates announced include:
Narendra Narayan Yadav from Alamnagar,
Niranjan Kumar Mehta from Bihariganj,
Ramesh Rishi Dev from Singheshwar,
Kavita Saha from Madhepura,
Gandeshwar Shah from Mahisi,
Atirek Kumar from Kusheshwarsthan
Atirek Kumar replaces Aman Bhushan Hazari, whose ticket was cancelled from Kusheshwarsthan. Similarly, Sudarshan’s ticket from Barbigha has also been withdrawn, though a replacement has not been formally announced yet.
The latest developments signal widening cracks in the NDA alliance. While the BJP has retained control of its high-profile constituencies, rejecting Paswan’s claims over seats like Danapur, Lalganj, Hisua, and Arwal, the JDU has gone a step further by formally defying the seat-sharing agreement. JDU sources described the move as necessary to protect its core voter base and ensure organizational integrity.
