Araghchi accused the US, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, of criminal behavior by targeting what he described as peaceful nuclear installations.

Few moments after the Foreign Minister’s post, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a forceful condemnation Sunday following US airstrikes on its nuclear facilities, calling the attacks a direct assault on its sovereignty.

In a strongly worded statement, Iranian officials accused the US of breaching the UN Charter, especially Article 2(4), which prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity of any state. Iran declared it has the right to respond with full force to defend its sovereignty, while also criticizing the IAEA for what it called “biased conduct” in favor of “warmongering parties.
