India vs Australia: Semi-Final Set as Harbhajan Singh Offers Winning Formula

Indian cricket fans get really excited for two matches: games against Pakistan, and games against Australia. India and Australia are both top cricket teams, and when they play each other, it’s a huge event, watched by tons of people, even more than some big sports events. Now, it’s time again for another big India versus Australia game – this time, it’s in the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy in 2025.

It’s a really important game because whoever wins will be very close to winning the whole Champions Trophy. Before the match, a famous Indian spin bowler, Harbhajan Singh, gave three tips for India to beat Australia in this semi-final.

Harbhajan Singh said the first thing is for India to not be scared of the Australian player Travis Head. He said they need to get him out quickly and not let him score runs. Secondly, Australia has powerful hitters like Glenn Maxwell and Josh Inglis who can score lots of runs fast with sixes and fours. Harbhajan Singh advised India to stop them from scoring too quickly. Thirdly, because it’s a knockout game (meaning if you lose, you’re out), he said India shouldn’t try to do too much extra. They should just play their normal game, the way they’ve been playing so far in the tournament.

Travis Head is known to play very well against Indian bowlers, especially the spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja. In the 2023 Cricket World Cup final, Head scored a brilliant 137 runs against India, which helped Australia win the game.

Meanwhile, Sourav Ganguly, who used to be the president of Indian cricket board (BCCI), talked about the fast bowler Mohammed Shami. Shami came back to the team after an injury and even took 5 wickets in a match against Pakistan in this Champions Trophy. Ganguly said that injuries happen to fast bowlers, it’s part of their job. He also said Shami and Jasprit Bumrah have won many games for India together and Shami is a very good bowler.

Ganguly also mentioned that India is a very strong team in cricket when it’s the shorter formats of the game (like this Champions Trophy and T20). He believes that India can beat any team, no matter who they are playing against, because they are so strong.
