Putin also sent Trump a message about the ceasefire proposal via the US special envoy on Friday, and the Kremlin added that it saw grounds for “cautious optimism” that a deal could be reached. Ukraine’s Zelenskyy also said that the country is ready for the 30-day ceasefire, which, according to him, could be used to draft a long-term peace plan. “I am very serious (about a ceasefire) and for me, it is important to end the war. We are ready for a ceasefire for 30 days as proposed by the American side,” Zelenskyy told reporters in Kyiv.
