Saudia Airlines Flight Carrying Hajj Pilgrims Faces Technical Glitch At Lucknow Airport

A Saudia Airlines flight carrying 250 Hajj pilgrims narrowly escaped disaster at Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport on Sunday morning, June 16, 2025, after a technical issue with its landing gear triggered sparks and smoke reported. The aircraft, identified as flight SV 3112, had taken off from Jeddah at 10:45 pm on Saturday and touched down in Lucknow around 6:30 am.

Upon landing, airport officials observed smoke and sparks emanating from the plane’s left wheel. The pilot promptly halted the aircraft and notified air traffic control, allowing for swift intervention. The plane was maneuvered to the taxiway, and all passengers and crew were safely evacuated. The airport’s emergency response team acted quickly, deploying foam and water to manage the situation within 20 minutes.

Investigations revealed that the issue stemmed from a hydraulic leak, which caused the wheel assembly to overheat. No injuries were reported, and all 250 passengers were safely disembarked, thanks to the rapid response of the airport staff and emergency services.
