Gujarat Budget 2026-27 : 10 Biggest Announcements Of Budget, Know What Will Benefit Middle Class?

Gandhinagar : The budget 2026-27 presented by Finance Minister Kanu Desai in the Gujarat Assembly has been historic. This budget mainly emphasizes on future technology, sports infrastructure and schemes affecting the middle class.

Big announcement of Gujarat Budget 2026

(1) 121 new Shramik Annapurna Kendras and 50 new Dhanvantari Arogya Raths will be started, provision of Rs 260 crore

(2) Provision of Rs 3472 crore for Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya-Maa Yojana

(3) 68 lakh people availed cashless treatment (small font)

(4) Provision of Rs 360 crore for construction of 2,000 new Anganwadis in Gujarat and expansion of existing Anganwadi infrastructure

(5) Provision of Rs 4272 crore for construction of 3.15 lakh houses in Gujarat

(6) Houses will be constructed under PM Housing Scheme, Dr. Ambedkar Housing Scheme, Pandit Deendayal Housing Scheme, Halpati Housing Scheme

(7) Announcement to increase the income limit for scholarships for SC-ST students from Rs. 2.5 lakh to Rs. 6 lakh

(8) Announcement of Rs 1500 crore for VB-G RAM G scheme

Scholarship increase: Annual income limit of Kumar students for post-matric scholarship increased from ₹2,50,000 to ₹6,00,000

Hostel assistance: Monthly assistance for students of ashram schools and grant-in-aid hostels increased from ₹2,160 to ₹2,500

New Schools: 926 more PM-SHRI schools and ‘Integrated Schools’ from Balwatika to Std. 10 will also be started in the state.

Namo Central Library: State-of-the-art digital library in Gandhinagar and ‘Bhagwan Birsa Munda Library’ to be set up in 15 talukas of tribal areas

(10) Provision of Rs 1278 crore for Ahmedabad to become an Olympic Ready City and Commonwealth Games

Stadiums, sports complexes, public transport facilities will be developed.

The state government’s mission is to build a healthy society through quality health services. More than 2 crore 72 lakh people have been included under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya-Mukhyamantri Amrutam (Maa Yojana)’ scheme. Out of which more than 68 lakh people have taken advantage of cashless treatment. ₹3472 crore has been allocated for this scheme.

The state government is developing more than 53 thousand Anganwadi centers as a strong pillar of nutrition, early childhood education and health services. In addition to enhancing the physical and digital infrastructure of Anganwadi, Rs 360 crore was allocated for the construction of two thousand new Anganwadis.

With the approach of ensuring food security of the citizens, free food grains will be provided to more than 75 lakh families in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. As a welfare state, it has taken a pledge of ‘House for All’ by providing permanent houses to poor and middle class families. Under which, a provision of ₹4272 crore has been made this year for more than 3 lakh 15 thousand houses under schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural and Urban), Dr. Ambedkar Awas Yojana, Pandit Deendayal Awas Yojana and Halpati Awas.
