Delhi HC Serves Notice to Atishi for Corruption Charges in Assembly Elections

New Delhi : The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to AAP leader Atishi after a petition was filed questioning her win in the Kalkaji Assembly constituency on the grounds of corrupt practices during the recent elections. The petition, moved by residents Kamaljit Singh Duggal and Ayush Rana, alleged that Atishi and her election agents had indulged in corrupt practices to ensure her victory in the February 2025 elections.
Justice Jyoti Singh has also issued notices to the Election Commission of India, the Delhi Police, and the returning officer of Kalkaji, who are all required to respond to the allegations. The next hearing has been fixed for July 30 by the court, over which objections were raised by the Election Commission and the returning officer against being included in the petition.
Atishi, who trounced BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri by 3,521 votes, captured the Kalkaji seat in the February 5 Delhi Assembly polls, whose results were declared three days later.
