Afghanistan Warns Pakistan Of ‘Decisive Action,’ Says Military Targets Hit In Retaliatory Strikes
The Afghan government issued a stern warning on Friday, vowing to take “decisive action” if Pakistan continues what Kabul has described as a war one that escalated after Afghan forces launched retaliatory strikes on Thursday night in response to civilian casualties caused by Pakistani airstrikes days earlier.
At a press conference in Kandahar, Afghan government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid addressed the ongoing Afghan military operations against Pakistani forces, stating: “We have targeted important military targets in Pakistan, and this sends a message that our hand can reach their necks.” His remarks, broadcast by TOLOnews, also included an appeal to regional nations to “stop Pakistan’s atrocities and bullying.”
Pakistani Surveillance Aircraft Still Over Afghan Skies
Mujahid confirmed that Pakistani reconnaissance aircraft were actively flying over Afghan territory even as he spoke hours after Islamabad carried out airstrikes on the key Afghan cities of Kabul and Kandahar. “Still, right now, Pakistani planes, reconnaissance aircraft, are flying over Afghanistan’s airspace,” he said. Despite the heightened military tensions, the spokesperson maintained that Kabul continues to favour a negotiated resolution. “We have repeatedly emphasised a peaceful solution and still want the problem to be resolved through dialogue,” Mujahid said.
Kabul Says Ties With India Not Directed Against Pakistan
Mujahid also addressed Afghanistan’s relationship with India, clarifying that warm bilateral ties between Kabul and New Delhi carry no anti-Pakistan intent. “We have good relations with India, but these are never against Pakistan, and the Islamic Emirate is never in anyone’s power or hand,” he said.
Army Chief: ‘We Will Respond to a Finger With a Fist’
In a separate and sharply worded address, Fasihuddin Fitrat, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, issued a direct warning to the Pakistani military. He stated that any violation of Afghan territory would be met with an even stronger and more decisive response, declaring: “We will respond to a finger with a fist.”

Fitrat further warned that if Pakistan’s military regime attempts to destabilise Afghanistan, its leadership would not remain safe even in Islamabad or other major cities across the country. He asserted that Afghanistan’s defence forces are fully capable of defending the nation’s territorial integrity.
