
Hyderabad : 17 people, including children, were killed as a fire broke out near Gulzar House in the Hyderabad Old City, an area close to the historical monument Charminar. The victims have been identified as Abhisekh Modi (30), Rajender Kumar (67), Munnibhai (72), Sumitra (65), Iraj (2 years), Arushi Jain (17), Harshali Gupta (7 years), and Sheetaj Jain (37). Among the victims are two children and one minor.
Rescue teams have successfully saved between 10 to 15 people so far. The local MLA has visited the site to assess the situation and coordinate relief efforts. Union Minister and state BJP chief G Kishan Reddy, along with Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, also reached the spot to oversee the ongoing operations.
A devastating fire broke out in Gulzar House, under the jurisdiction of Mir Chowk Police Station in Hyderabad. The flames quickly engulfed the area, prompting a swift response from fire and rescue teams, who managed to save several people trapped inside.

The Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, has spoken to concerned Minister Ponnam Prabhakar to obtain detailed updates on the incident. The Chief Minister also reached out by phone to console the families affected by the fire. The Chief Minister further instructed Minister Prabhakar to take all necessary steps to support the families impacted by the disaster. He emphasised ensuring the best possible medical care for those injured in the blaze.
