6 Workers Trapped After Portion Of Factory Collapses In Punjab’s Ludhiana

As many as 6 workers are feared trapped in Punjab’s Ludhiana after a portion of a factory collapsed in the Focal Point area. Rescue operations are currently going on.

Jitendra Jorwal, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ludhiana said that we received information this evening that the building of a factory collapsed in the Focal Point 8 area. Six workers are trapped. Rescue operations are underway. NDRF teams have reached the spot.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann took note of the situation and ordered officials to initiate rescue efforts. A factory collapse has been reported in Ludhiana. I have asked the administration to immediately assess the situation. According to police, inquiry will be conducted into the factory collapse and a report would be submitted to higher authorities.
