Nvidia’s New RTX Spark Chip To Power Next-Generation Windows Laptops From Dell, HP And Microsoft
California: Nvidia has stepped deeper into the personal computing market with the launch of its new RTX Spark chip, a processor designed to power a new generation of Windows laptops from major manufacturers including Dell, HP and Microsoft.
Nvidia Targets the AI PC Market
The announcement marks Nvidia’s most significant move yet into the Windows PC segment, where Intel, AMD and Qualcomm have traditionally dominated. Unveiled during the Computex technology event, the RTX Spark chip is built to handle advanced artificial intelligence workloads directly on devices rather than relying heavily on cloud-based processing.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang introduced the new processor as part of the company’s broader strategy to bring AI capabilities closer to users through personal computers.
Dell, HP and Other Brands Join Launch Lineup
According to reports, several leading PC makers are preparing devices powered by the RTX Spark platform. The first wave of products is expected to include laptops from Dell, HP, Microsoft, Lenovo, Asus and MSI.
These upcoming systems are being positioned as AI-focused machines capable of supporting demanding workloads such as content creation, gaming and AI-powered applications.
Designed for Local AI Processing
The RTX Spark chip combines CPU and GPU capabilities in a single platform and is designed to run AI models locally on Windows devices. Nvidia says the processor will enable users to perform advanced AI tasks without depending entirely on remote data centers.
The company is also working closely with Microsoft to support AI features on Windows, reflecting a growing industry push toward on-device AI computing.
Competition Intensifies in the PC Industry
Nvidia’s entry into the Windows processor market increases competition for Intel, AMD and Qualcomm. The move follows years of growing interest in Arm-based computing and energy-efficient chip designs, trends that have gained momentum after Apple’s success with its in-house silicon.
Industry analysts view Nvidia’s latest announcement as a major step in the evolution of AI-powered personal computers, with manufacturers increasingly focusing on devices capable of handling complex AI workloads directly on the machine.

Reuters earlier reported that Nvidia-powered Windows computers were expected to debut through Microsoft’s Surface lineup as well as devices from manufacturers such as Dell. CNBC also reported that the new chip will power a fresh range of Windows laptops from leading PC brands.
