Fitbit Air Launched: Screenless Wearable With 24/7 Heart Rate Tracking, Google Health Integration Priced at $99.99

Google has launched the Fitbit Air, the newest addition to the Fitbit lineup, positioning it as a screenless, lightweight health tracker designed for round-the-clock wear. The device takes direct aim at competitors like Whoop, offering continuous health monitoring without the distraction of a display.

Price and Availability

The Fitbit Air is priced at $99.99 (roughly Rs. 9,400) and is currently available for pre-order globally, with sales opening on May 26. Every purchase includes a three-month trial of Google Health Premium, which includes access to Google Health Coach features.

Google has also unveiled a Fitbit Air Special Edition, co-designed with basketball star Stephen Curry. The special edition comes with a rye brown and orange Performance Loop band featuring a water-resistant coating and a textured interior designed to improve airflow during workouts. It is priced at $129.99 (roughly Rs. 12,300) and will go on sale in the US from May 26. Accessory bands for the Fitbit Air are available separately, starting at $34.99 (roughly Rs. 3,300).

Features and Specifications

The Fitbit Air adopts a compact “pebble” design with no screen, allowing users to wear it throughout the day without interruptions from notifications or display glare. All detailed health data is accessible through the Google Health app on a connected smartphone.

On the health monitoring front, the tracker covers continuous heart rate tracking, heart rhythm monitoring with AFib alerts, blood oxygen (SpO2) tracking, resting heart rate monitoring, heart rate variability tracking, sleep stage analysis, and sleep duration monitoring.

For fitness, the Fitbit Air supports automatic workout detection and tracking, along with the option to manually log workouts or follow guided sessions through Google Health Coach. The device supports multiple interchangeable band options a standard Performance Loop Band made from recycled materials, a sweat-resistant Active Band built for workouts, and an Elevated Modern Band styled to wear as a fashion bracelet.

Google claims the Fitbit Air delivers up to one week of battery life on a single charge. It also supports fast charging, with a five-minute charge said to provide up to a full day of use.
