World Boxing Cup Finals 2025: Minakshi, Preeti, Arundhati And Nupur Power India’s Golden Surge With Four Titles

India celebrated a historic day at the World Boxing Cup Finals 2025, as women boxers delivered an impressive collection of gold medals at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex on Thursday (November 20). Minakshi (48kg), Preeti (54kg), Arundhati Choudhary (70kg), and Nupur (80+kg) all claimed top honors, demonstrating India’s rising strength ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, where boxing will achieve full gender parity.

The four victories came in key Olympic-weight divisions, underlining India’s expanding depth and consistency on the global stage. Their success highlighted a strong overall performance by the hosts, with Jadumani Singh, Pawan Bartwal, Abhinash Jamwal, and Ankush Phangal each securing silver medals in the men’s finals. The momentum was expected to continue, with seven more Indians, including reigning world champion Jaismine Lamboria, two-time world champion Nikhat Zareen, and world cup medallist Hitesh Gulia, set to compete for gold in session 7.

Minakshi launched India’s golden run with a dominant 5-0 decision over Asian Champion Farzona Fozilova. Employing her signature high-tempo approach, she took control early with a sharp left-right combination and maintained dominance through crisp counters, steady jabs, and disciplined defensive work. Preeti continued India’s charge with another unanimous 5-0 victory, overpowering Italy’s Sirine Charrabi through relentless forward pressure and intelligent footwork. She consistently pushed her opponent onto the ropes and landed clean shots to the head while controlling the pace of the contest.

Arundhati Choudhary, making her return to elite competition after 18 months, delivered one of the day’s most impressive performances. The former Youth World Champion outclassed Uzbekistan’s Aziza Zokirova with a commanding 5-0 decision, blending calculated aggression with disciplined defense and repeatedly scoring with her powerful jab. The gold rush concluded with Nupur’s narrow 3-2 victory over Uzbekistan’s Sotimboeva Oltinoy in a strategic, tactical battle.
