What if Today’s PBKS vs RCB Match Doesn’t Take Place?

Qualifier-1 from 7:30 pm at New Chandigarh's Mullanpur

Mullanpur: Qualifier-1 of IPL 2025 is scheduled today (from 7.30 pm) between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Mullanpur Stadium in New Chandigarh. If the match is abandoned due to rain or any other unavoidable reason, no reserve day has been scheduled.

In such a case, Punjab, who finished at the top of the points table, will qualify directly for the 3rd June’s final to be played at Ahmedabad.

Punjab has this benefit to go straight to the final because they were on top position in the league stage at the end of the 14 league match’s schedule.

Though, Punjab will move to the finale, Bengaluru’s team will not be eliminated from the tournament. They will get another chance in Qualifier-2.

In Qualifier-2, Bengaluru will face the winner of the Eliminator, which is between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on Friday, 30th May at Mullanpur.

Mumbai has won the IPL title five times and Gujarat once. However, if either Punjab or Bengaluru reaches final and wins the final, IPL will get a new champion.
