Ranchi: Cricket fans worldwide are well aware of the strong on-field rapport between Mahendra Singh Dhoni — regarded as one of the greatest to have handled the combined responsibilities of captain, wicketkeeper and batsman — and batting legend Virat Kohli. But a glimpse of their deep off-field bond has also come to light.
After arriving in India from London on Thursday, Kohli travelled straight to Ranchi. He is eagerly looking forward to featuring in the first ODI against South Africa on Sunday, 30 November. Before joining the squad, however, he chose to meet his mentor and close friend, MS Dhoni. Dhoni had personally invited Kohli to his Ranchi farmhouse for dinner.
A video that went viral from Thursday shows Dhoni driving his car to drop Kohli back at the team hotel.
Cricket fans gathered around the spot erupted in cheers as the iconic “guru-shishya” duo — Dhoni and Kohli — were seen together in the same car.
