Tilak Varma Back in Action as India ‘A’ Squad Revealed for T20 World Cup Warm-Up Fixtures
Ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, the BCCI announced India’s ‘A’ squad. This squad will feature in two games- matches against USA and Namibia, wherein the swashbuckling batter Tilak Verma has made a comeback.
Tilak Verma wasn’t able to play matches as he was undergoing a surgery due to abdominal issues in Rajkot. After successful completion, he had resumed physical training at the BCCI CoE and had been practicing since for World Cup preparation.

He had to miss out the entire New Zealand T20Is being ruled out for all first three matches. Now, he is all set for a comeback and would be seen in one warm up match before resuming in the Indian Squad team for the T20 world Cup 2026.
Stars like Priyansh Arya, Ashutosh Sharma, and Vipraj Nigam have also been picked for the pre-tournament warm-ups, with Ayush Badoni leading the way for India. The team’s wicketkeeper-batter options are N Jagadeesan and Urvil Patel.
