‘Steel Man of India’ Sets World Record for Holding Hercules Pillars, Elon Musk Shares Video

Indian athlete Vispy Kharadi, dubbed the “Steel Man of India,” has added another milestone to his illustrious career by setting a new world record for the longest duration holding Hercules pillars (male). According to Guinness World Records, Kharadi managed to hold the two Greek-style pillars for 2 minutes 10.75 seconds, a feat that has now been officially recorded.
Guinness posted a video of the record-breaking attempt on their official X account, and the clip has since amassed over 10 million views. The video also caught the attention of Elon Musk, who shared it on his social media account, further amplifying the achievement.
In the recorded feat, Kharadi is seen gripping two short pillars—each connected to a rope—that mimic the design of ancient Greek Hercules pillars. His challenge was to hold onto the ropes for as long as possible without letting the pillars fall.
This accomplishment marks Kharadi’s 15th Guinness World Record and underscores his reputation as a formidable athlete. A report by Zee News highlights that Kharadi is not only a multiple black belt holder and Krav Maga specialist, but he also holds an MBA from IIM-B and is a certified sports nutritionist from the International Sports Science Academy in the US. Besides his athletic prowess, he works as a stunt choreographer, actor, model, and strength coach, serving as a fitness and nutrition expert to several celebrities.
Expressing his delight on X, Kharadi said, “It was indeed a good surprise when I got to know that @elonmusk shared my Guinness World Record Video on X. I feel so happy and on cloud 9. Moreover, it gives me immense pride that an Indian is being praised worldwide in the field of strength.”
In addition to his record-setting performances, Kharadi is known for training Border Security Forces (BSF) and other security personnel in both armed and unarmed combat techniques, including Krav Maga. He also conducts self-defense training sessions for women across the country.
Reflecting on his journey, Kharadi shared, “God has been kind to me, and I believe the universe has many more goals for me to accomplish. I will keep on working positively and put my best foot forward to achieve even more milestones.”
With his relentless pursuit of excellence and continued international recognition, Vispy Kharadi remains a source of inspiration for athletes and fitness enthusiasts alike.
