South Africa’s “Jonty Rhodes No. 2” On Display

Guwahati: In world cricket, South Africa’s Jonty Rhodes is considered the king of fielding — and today, his countryman Aiden Markram produced a catch that truly reminded everyone of Rhodes’ brilliance. It was a blinder.
On Day 3 of the second Test in Guwahati, Markram, stationed at slip, sprinted slightly to his right and pulled off a stunning one-handed diving catch to dismiss Nitish Kumar Reddy. It was pure athleticism — reflexes, timing, and commitment all in one moment.

South Africa’s fielding has been exceptional today. All seven Indian wickets so far have fallen to catches. Marco Jansen has been the standout bowler with four wickets, while Simon Harmer has taken two and Keshav Maharaj has picked up one.
