Shardul Thakur Replaces Injured Mohsin Khan in IPL 2025 for Lucknow Super Giants

Shardul Thakur has been brought in as a replacement for the injured Mohsin Khan at Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the 2025 Indian Premier League season. Mohsin, who has been sidelined due to an ACL tear, will miss this year’s IPL, having last played in December 2024.

Thakur, who went unsold during the initial IPL auction, was picked up by LSG from the Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP) at his base price of INR 2 crore. The Mumbai pace-bowling all-rounder has been in strong form during the domestic season, impressing with both ball and bat.

Thakur brings a wealth of experience, having played in 95 IPL matches and picked up 94 wickets. He has been known for his hard-hitting performances lower down the order, with a highest score of 68. The all-rounder has previously represented several franchises, including Punjab Kings, Chennai Super Kings, and Delhi Capitals.

Although Thakur had signed a contract with Essex to play in the County Championship during the 2025-26 season, he will now be unavailable for that commitment due to his IPL duties.
