Rishabh Pant Smashes 6 sixes in a Single Innings, sets New Record in England

Leeds: On Saturday, India’s vice-captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant broke Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s record for most (Six) Test centuries by an Indian wicketkeeper (six), and also achieved several other feats during the ongoing Test series in England.
Despite hitting record break seventh century Pant now holds the record for the most sixes in a single Test innings in England by a visiting batsman. In the first innings of the opening Test at Leeds, Pant scored a brilliant 134 runs, which included 12 fours and 6 sixes.
Previously, no overseas player had ever hit more than five sixes in a single Test innings in England.
Before Pant, four foreign players had struck five sixes in an innings in England:
Sam Loxton (Australia, 1948)
Michael Holding (West Indies, 1984)
Adam Gilchrist (Australia, 2001)
Ross Taylor (New Zealand, 2008)
By hitting his sixth six, Pant broke Ross Taylor’s 17-year-old record set in 2008.
Pant is now second among Indians for most sixes in a Test innings outside India, behind only Hardik Pandya, who smashed seven sixes in an innings against Sri Lanka in 2017.
Impressively, this was also the third time Pant reached a Test century with a six against England — the previous instances being in Ahmedabad (2021) and at The Oval (2018).
A stunning display of fearless batting!
