Thiruvanthpuram: The new season of the Ranji Trophy began today, and in the opening match at Thiruvananthapuram, the Maharashtra team found itself in deep trouble against Kerala.
Opening batsman Prithvi Shaw was dismissed for a duck (zero). Along with him, four Maharashtra batsmen returned to the pavilion without scoring a run.
Shaw, who has moved from the Mumbai team to Maharashtra this season, was trapped LBW by Kerala’s M.D. Nidheesh.
In the first two overs, Maharashtra lost three wickets for just five runs. Arshin Kulkarni, Siddhesh Veer, and captain Ankit Bawne were all dismissed before opening their accounts.
As per the latest update, Maharashtra’s score was 48 for 5 wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad was batting on 14 and Jalaj Saxena was on 17.
