ICC Test Rankings : Mohammed Siraj Storms To Career-Best ICC Test Ranking After Oval Show

New Dehi : Mohammed Siraj has made significant gains in the ICC Test Rankings following his standout performance in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. The India fast bowler has climbed 12 spots to break into the top 15 of the ICC Test Rankings for men’s bowlers for the first time in his career. Siraj was named Player of the Match after India’s sensational victory at The Oval, London.

He took nine wickets in the match, including a five-wicket haul in the second innings, as India defended 374 runs to level the series. The 30-year-old finished the five-Test series with 23 wickets – the most by any bowler – in a contest that ebbed and flowed from Leeds to London. He bowled 185.2 overs, more than any other bowler in the series, showcasing tireless effort and commitment for Shubman Gill’s young side.

Siraj claimed three of England’s last four wickets, including the decisive blow: a searing yorker that sent Gus Atkinson’s off-stump cartwheeling when the hosts needed just seven more runs to win. Under immense pressure, Siraj delivered a high-quality spell of 4.1 overs as India triumphed in a thrilling final session on the 25th match day of the series.

Prasidh Krishna, who took eight wickets in the oval Test, has moved 25 places to No. 59 in the latest bowling rankings. While Krishna lacked control with the ball, the Karnataka fast bowler was instrumental in picking key wickets in crunch situations, forging a match-winning partnership with Siraj. He finished the series with 14 wickets in three matches.
