India Shines at Taiwan Open Athletics: Tops with 16 Medals Including 12 Golds

Chinese Taipei: India recorded a historic performance at the Taiwan Open Athletics 2025, clinching a total of 16 medals, including 12 golds, to finish on top of the medals table on Sunday. The Indian contingent also secured three silver and one bronze medal in the two-day competition.
Indian athletes bagged six gold medals on the opening day (Saturday) and added six more on Sunday, marking a highly successful outing in Taipei.
In the men’s javelin throw, Rohit Yadav struck gold with a throw of 74.42 meters.

Vithya Ramraj – 400m hurdles (56.53 seconds)
Pooja – 800m race (2 minutes, 02.79 seconds)
Krishan Kumar – 800m race (1 minute, 48.46 seconds)
Annu Rani – javelin throw (56.82 meters)
Santosh, Vishal, Dharamveer, Manu T.S. – 4x400m relay (3 minutes, 05.58 seconds)
On Saturday, India’s standout performance came from Asian champion Jyothi Yarraji, who won the women’s 100m hurdles in 12.99 seconds, defeating two Japanese runners who clocked 13.04 and 13.10 seconds, respectively.
Notably, just nine days earlier, Yarraji had won gold at the Asian Championships in South Korea, completing the same event in 12.96 seconds. However, in both meets, she narrowly missed breaking her own national record of 12.78 seconds.
