India vs Australia: Shreyas Iyer to Lead India A in Four-Day Series Against Australia A in Lucknow

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced a 15-player India A team, with Shreyas Iyer stepping in as captain for a pair of four-day encounters against Australia A set to unfold in Lucknow. The action kicks off on September 16, and for the follow-up match on September 23, the lineup gets a boost with the addition of KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj. Iyer, who missed out on selection for India’s Asia Cup campaign starting September 9 in the UAE, is presently suiting up for West Zone in the Duleep Trophy semifinals against Central Zone in Bengaluru.

This squad blends seasoned pros with up-and-coming stars, featuring Dhruv Jurel as vice-captain and primary wicketkeeper. Key batsmen include opener Abhimanyu Easwaran and Devdutt Padikkal, plus rising talents like Sai Sudharsan and Ayush Badoni. On the bowling front, pace leaders Prasidh Krishna and Khaleel Ahmed anchor the attack, backed by spinners Harsh Dubey, Tanush Kotian, and Manav Suthar.

Rounding out the group are all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy and leg-spinner Gurnoor Brar. Come the second four-dayer, a couple of spots will open up to accommodate senior internationals KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj, adding extra firepower. Both fixtures are slated for the same Lucknow ground.
