India Unbeaten in Adelaide for 17 Years – Second Odi Against Australia on Thursday Rain in Adelaide; Match to Be Broadcast Live From 9:00 a.m. (Ist)

Adelaide: The second One-Day International (ODI) between India and Australia’s men’s teams will be played on Thursday, October 23 (starting 9:00 a.m. IST). A win here would give Mitchell Marsh’s Australian side a 2–0 series victory, but history favors India — giving Shubman Gill’s team a strong chance to level the series 1–1. However, rain has been forecast in Adelaide on Thursday.

India has not lost a single ODI in Adelaide since 2008 — a span of 17 years. Out of their last five ODIs at this venue, India has won four, with one ending in a draw.

Australia, meanwhile, hasn’t beaten India at this ground since that 2008 match — losing both encounters in 2012 and 2019. India has also defeated Pakistan and Sri Lanka here during the same period.
Overall, India has won 9 out of 15 ODIs played at Adelaide Oval.

BCCI

In 2012, Gautam Gambhir’s 92 helped India chase down a 270-run target against Australia with six wickets in hand. Interestingly, Gambhir is now India’s head coach.

In 2019, Virat Kohli’s brilliant 104 guided India to a successful chase of 299. This time, Kohli has a major personal milestone within reach — if he scores 54 runs, he will surpass Kumar Sangakkara to become the second-highest run-scorer in ODI history.
