Edgbaston – Team India has created history in the second Test against England by scoring a total of 1,014 runs (10/587 and 6/427 declared) — the first time in India’s 93-year Test history that the team has crossed the 1,000-run mark in a single Test match.
Previously, India’s highest combined total in a single Test was 916 runs (705/7 declared and 211/2 declared) against Australia in Sydney in 2004. In that match, Sachin Tendulkar scored an unbeaten 241 and VVS Laxman made 178.
