IND vs PAK Women’s World Cup: Millions of Bugs Swarm During India–Pakistan Clash | WATCH

Colombo: A bizarre incident occurred during Sunday’s Women’s One-Day World Cup match between India and Pakistan. The game had to be halted temporarily after millions of bugs suddenly swarmed onto the field.

The match was being played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, when Pakistani bowler Nashra Sandhu and other players complained to the umpire about a sudden invasion of tiny insect-like bugs. The play was immediately stopped.

At one point, a Pakistani fielder was seen spraying bug repellent, and soon the entire Pakistani team gathered together, bringing the game to a complete standstill. Captain Fatima Sana even took the spray bottle herself, trying to keep the insects away.

Indian batters Jemimah Rodrigues and Harleen Deol were also visibly disturbed by the bugs.

A “bug break” is not a common sight in international cricket, but given Colombo’s humid conditions and the presence of food stalls nearby, such insect invasions are not entirely unusual.

At the time of the interruption, Jemimah was batting on 28 runs, while Deepti Sharma was on 2. Shortly after the bug break ended, Jemimah was dismissed.
