New Delhi: Our young cricket sensation Abhishek Sharma, who’s been making waves in the IPL for the past two years, has now achieved a stunning milestone in international T20 cricket — he has become the new World No. 1 T20 batsman. And just hours after reaching that feat on Wednesday, he made a dashing appearance at an event in the capital, New Delhi, walking the ramp like a film star or model.
Abhishek graced the runway at the India Couture Week 2025 event held in Delhi. As the Punjabi lad stepped onto the ramp, fans erupted in cheers, showering him with applause. He walked the ramp for noted designer JJ Valaya. Dressed in a traditional outfit, Abhishek stood out from the rest of the participants with his distinct and striking look.
The 24-year-old cricketer has already played 17 T20 Internationals for India and 77 IPL matches. A left-handed batsman and a spinner, Abhishek is known for his all-round cricketing flair. During his catwalk, he wore an off-white knee-length kurta and churidar, paired with pastel and muted-tone floral embroidery. The outfit was complemented by a matching floral jacket with a band-collar, adding a rich traditional flair to his showstopper look.
Just hours after being officially declared the new No. 1 T20I batsman in the world by the ICC, Abhishek made a remarkable appearance on the ramp, stealing the limelight. He surpassed Australia’s Travis Head to claim the top rank.
