Dukes Ball Controversy in England: Rishabh Pant Points Out Major Fault

London – Team India’s vice-captain Rishabh Pant has stirred up controversy by criticizing the quality of the Dukes ball being used in the ongoing Test series against England. Speaking to the media, Pant remarked, “I’ve never seen a red ball for Test cricket lose shape so drastically. These balls are becoming a major issue and are not in the best interest of the game. It’s a serious problem — the shape of the ball keeps changing. I’ve never experienced anything like this before.”

Throughout the series, players from both sides have frequently approached the umpires with complaints about the ball losing shape. Echoing these concerns, Pant added, “Players are genuinely frustrated. The ball behaves inconsistently — sometimes it feels soft. While batting, constant adjustments are required. It’s affecting the rhythm of the game.”

The Dukes ball, traditionally used in England for its seam and swing-friendly nature, is now under scrutiny for what appears to be a significant dip in manufacturing quality during this series.
