Dubai Police Cracks Down on Unruly Fan Behaviour Ahead of India-pakistan Asia Cup Final: Banners, Firecrackers Banned, Heavy Fines Announced

India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, and Pakistan, captained by Salman Ali Agha, are set to renew their fierce rivalry in the Asia Cup 2025 final at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. This marks the first time in 41 years that the two teams will meet in the title clash of the continental event. With tensions already running high throughout the tournament, the final is expected to be a high-voltage contest.

In anticipation of the packed stadium and charged atmosphere, Dubai Police has issued strict safety guidelines for spectators attending the match. A detailed advisory outlines clear instructions on both permitted and prohibited behaviour for fans.

Authorities have asked ticket holders to arrive at least three hours before the 8 PM IST scheduled start. Spectators will be allowed only single entry per valid ticket, and re-entry will not be permitted once they leave the venue. Fans have also been reminded to follow stewards’ directions and park only in designated areas.

The list of banned items is extensive, with national flags, banners, firecrackers, and other hazardous materials strictly prohibited inside the stadium. Violations, including pitch invasions or use of offensive language, may draw fines ranging between INR 1.2 lakh and INR 7.24 lakh, along with a possible jail term of up to three months.

Dubai Police has also warned of additional penalties for acts of violence, throwing objects, or racist and abusive conduct towards players. Offenders could be fined between INR 2.41 lakh and INR 7.24 lakh. Specialised police units will be on duty throughout the final to ensure order and public safety.

India has already defeated Pakistan twice in this edition of the Asia Cup, giving Suryakumar Yadav’s side a psychological edge heading into the final. However, with the stakes at their highest and security tightened, fans on both sides have been warned that misconduct will not be tolerated.
