New Delhi: In October, St. Louis (USA) will host a series of exhibition matches featuring legendary and modern-day chess rivals: Viswanathan Anand vs. Garry Kasparov – a 12-game series with a total prize fund of $144,000. D. Gukesh vs. Magnus Carlsen – the reigning teenage World Champion against the long-time former World No.1.

Anand and Kasparov have faced each other 82 times. Kasparov leads the tally, while 30 games ended in draws. Their last meeting was at the 2021 Zagreb Rapid & Blitz, where Anand defeated Kasparov.
Carlsen and Gukesh have played 49 games so far, with Carlsen ahead 31–12, and 6 games drawn. Additionally, another major tournament will be held in St. Louis featuring Carlsen (World No.1), Hikaru Nakamura (No.2), Fabiano Caruana (No.3), and Gukesh, offering a prize pool of $412,000.
