Cheteshwar Pujara’s Brother-in-law Jeet Pabari Found Dead In Rajkot Amid Legal Controversy

Jeet Pabari, the brother-in-law of prominent Indian cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara, was found dead at his residence in Rajkot after allegedly taking his own life by hanging. The incident has drawn significant attention, particularly because Pabari was previously the subject of a police case.

A year ago, on November 26, 2024, a rape complaint was filed against Jeet Pabari at the Malaviya Nagar Police Station in Rajkot by his former fiancée. Sources indicate that the woman accused Pabari of sexual assault under the pretense of marriage. According to her statement, Pabari engaged in a forced sexual relationship and later called off the engagement. She further submitted a written complaint addressed to the Rajkot Police Commissioner outlining her allegations.

The relationship between the two began in 2014 when Pabari sent the woman a friend request on Facebook, which led to regular conversations and eventually friendship. He reportedly expressed his desire to marry her. The families were involved, and their betrothal ceremony took place on October 8, 2021, followed by an official engagement on January 27, 2022. The woman stated that after the engagement, Pabari suggested travel outside the city, indicating marriage preparations. She also mentioned traveling to Dubai with his family for a function.

Police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to Jeet Pabari’s death and whether they are connected to the ongoing legal dispute.
