Bomb Threat Sent to Bengal Cricket Body During KKR vs CSK IPL Match at Eden Gardens

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) received a bomb threat via email while the Kolkata Knight Riders faced off against the Chennai Super Kings at Eden Gardens on Wednesday, May 7. The threat was sent from an unidentified email account and was discovered in CAB’s official inbox during the match.
Authorities have launched an investigation, and security measures at the stadium have been heightened. The high-profile IPL fixture was the first to be held following Operation Sindhoor—a series of precision strikes carried out by Indian forces in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir last month.
On the same day as the match, Indian forces reportedly targeted nine terror camps linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. Government sources stated the operations were aimed solely at non-military sites and were described as “measured, focused, and non-escalatory.”
This is a developing story and will be updated as new information emerges.
