BCCI’s Decision Not to Hold Open Bus Parade for Team India After Champions Trophy Win Sparks Questions

Team India players returned home as champions after lifting the ICC champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. The Men in Blue defeated New Zealand in the final to win the trophy for the third time and become the most successful team in the history of the tournament. The victory is unlikely to be celebrated.

The T20 world cup victory parade, there will be no open bus celebration for India’s Champions Trophy-winning squad. The team has barely any time to rest before diving into IPL preparations, the players will have limited moments to spend with their families. The BCCI did not organize a victory parade after India’s Champions Trophy win under MS Dhoni in 2013 either. Team India players returned separately to their respective cities due to their commitments to the upcoming IPL 2025, which starts on March 22. Skipper Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Hardik Pandya received a warm welcome upon their arrival in Mumbai on Monday night.

Rohit Sharma was escorted with heavy security around him as he returned back from Dubai. The head coach Gautam Gambhir and pacer Harshit Rana returned to New Delhi, with star batter Virat Kohli expected to arrive soon. During the Champions trophy, Rohit also became the first and only skipper to lead a team in all ICC tournament finals. He has captained India to the finals of 2023 WTC, 2023 ODI World Cup, 2024 T20 World cup and recently the 2025 Champions Trophy.
