BCCI Rewards Indian Team with Rs 58 Crore After Champions Trophy Victory

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a significant cash reward of Rs 58 crore for the Indian cricket team following their triumph in the 2025 Champions Trophy. Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, India secured their third Champions Trophy title on March 9, defeating New Zealand by four wickets in a thrilling final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
BCCI President Roger Binny expressed that this achievement marks the significance of back-to-back ICC titles for the Indian team, emphasizing the dedication and excellence of the players. He highlighted the robust cricketing ecosystem in India, which also saw success earlier in 2025 with the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup victory.
Rajeev Shukla, the BCCI vice-president, lauded the team’s exceptional performances throughout the tournament, praising their mental toughness and resilience. He remarked that their victory serves as an inspiration for budding cricketers across the nation.
India’s journey to the final included a dominant group-stage performance with victories over Bangladesh and arch-rivals Pakistan, followed by a convincing win against New Zealand. In the semi-finals, Virat Kohli’s steady 84 runs helped India seal a win against Australia, ensuring a place in their third consecutive Champions Trophy final.
The final saw Rohit Sharma’s crucial 76 runs lead the way, while Shreyas Iyer’s standout performance of 243 runs throughout the tournament further contributed to India’s success. With key players like Mohammed Shami and Varun Chakravarthy excelling with the ball, India’s collective effort secured a historic victory.
