BCCI Central Contracts: Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan Return; Rishabh Pant Promoted to Grade A | Details

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed its annual central contracts list on Monday, covering the period from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025. The highest tier, Grade A+, remains unchanged with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja retaining their positions.

Shreyas Iyer has regained his place in the BCCI contract system, securing a Grade B contract after being excluded last season. Both Iyer and Ishan Kishan had previously lost their central contracts after skipping domestic cricket commitments. Iyer had cited injury concerns when missing a Ranji Trophy match in February 2024, while Kishan took time away from competitive cricket, including Jharkhand’s Ranji Trophy fixtures.

According to BCCI policy, players automatically qualify for Grade C contracts if they meet minimum appearance requirements: at least three Tests, eight ODIs, or ten T20Is during the specified timeframe, with payments calculated on a pro-rata basis.

Varun Chakravarthy joins the central contracts list as the newest addition following his impressive performance in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy. Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin is no longer included after his international cricket retirement in December 2024. First-time central contract recipients include Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Abhishek Sharma.

The complete breakdown of the BCCI central contracts:
