Australia wins 8-0 in West Indies: Here’s how they created this record…

Basseterre (St. Kitts): On Monday, Australia defeated West Indies in the fifth and final T20 by three wickets with 18 balls to spare, and in doing so, the Kangaroos set a new record in T20 cricket for their country. For the first time in cricket history, Australia has won all matches played on foreign soil during a tour.
On Caribbean soil, Australia first won the Test series 3-0, and now they’ve completed a 5-0 clean sweep in the T20 series. In total, they won by 8-0 against the Caribbeans.
India holds the world record with 9-0
This is the first time Australia has played eight matches on a single country’s tour and won all eight. India holds the world record in this category. In 2017, during the Sri Lanka tour, the Indian team won:
The three-match Test series 3-0,
The five-match ODI series 5-0, and
The only T20 match 1-0 –
making it a 9-0 sweep across formats.
In these record books, Australia now stands at number two with 8-0.
Only twice in history has a team won a T20 series 5-0. Before Australia, India achieved this six years ago, defeating New Zealand 5-0 in a T20 series.
Hetmyer’s power-hitting, Dwarshuis takes three wickets

Owen’s explosive finish
Australia chased down the target in 17 overs, scoring 173/7, with the biggest contribution from Mitchell Owen, who smashed 37 runs off 17 balls, including three sixes and three fours. For West Indies, Akeal Hosein was the most successful bowler, taking three wickets.
