At 38, Rohit Becomes World No. 1 ODI Batter For The First Time And Oldest Of All
Dubai : Former India captain Rohit Sharma, who holds the world record for the highest individual ODI score of 264 runs and is the only batter with three double centuries in the format, has achieved a remarkable milestone — becoming the World No. 1 batter in the ICC ODI rankings for the first time in his career.
What makes this feat even more special is that at 38 years and 182 days, Rohit has become the oldest player ever to reach the No. 1 spot in ICC’s ODI batting rankings.
Rohit’s recent performances against Australia, where he scored 73 runs and an unbeaten 121, played a key role in lifting him to the top position. Although he has consistently remained within the top ten for nearly a decade, this is the first time he has claimed the top ranking.
