Apollo Tyres Replaces Dream11 as Team India Jersey Sponsor in Rs 579 Crore Deal

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed Apollo Tyres as the new jersey sponsor for the Indian cricket team in a landmark agreement effective until 2028. The partnership comes after the BCCI’s contract with Dream11 was terminated following a government ban on betting-related applications.
Details of the Landmark Partnership
In a statement, the BCCI announced the partnership with the global tyre industry leader, highlighting it as Apollo Tyres’ first venture into Indian cricket. The deal, which spans two and a half years and concludes in March 2028, will see the Apollo Tyres logo featured on the jerseys of both the men’s and women’s teams across all formats.

Financially, the deal is a significant step up for the BCCI. Apollo Tyres will pay Rs 4.5 crore per match, an increase from Dream11’s Rs 4 crore. The three-year agreement is valued at a reported Rs 579 crore, covering 121 bilateral games and 21 ICC events, making it one of the most lucrative sponsorships in recent Indian cricket history. This is substantially higher than the previous Rs 358 crore deal with Dream11.
BCCI Officials Welcome the New Sponsor
Devajit Saikia, the BCCI secretary, commented on the new alliance, stating, “The arrival of Apollo Tyres as our new sponsor is a testament to the hard work and consistent performance of our teams. This is more than a commercial agreement; it’s a partnership between two institutions that have earned the trust and respect of millions.”
BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla added, “This is a momentous occasion, bringing together two of India’s most powerful and enduring legacies: the unwavering spirit of Indian cricket and the pioneering legacy of Apollo Tyres. The competitive nature of the bidding process highlights the strong market confidence in the BCCI and the global brand of Team India. We are confident that this partnership will be a driving force for mutual growth and success.”
The Reason for the Sponsorship Change
The BCCI was left without a primary shirt sponsor after the government implemented the ‘Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025’, which banned real-money gaming platforms. The legislation prohibits any person from offering, aiding, or advertising online money gaming services. As a result, the Indian team recently played the Asia Cup in Dubai without a title sponsor. A senior BCCI official confirmed the new agreement, stating, “The deal has been signed with Apollo Tyres. We will announce it soon.”
