Team India’s invaluable night-watchman Akash Deep served notice by Uttar Pradesh Government

Lucknow: After playing a crucial role in helping India draw the Test series 2-2 in England, pace bowler Akash Deep has run into a personal hurdle upon returning home. The Uttar Pradesh Transport Department has issued him a notice.
It is alleged that Akash Deep violated state regulations by driving a car without a High Security Registration Plate (HSRP).
The government department has also reportedly sent a notice to Sunny Motors, the car dealer, for delivering the vehicle a black Toyota Fortuner to Akash Deep without completing the registration process and without fitting the HSRP. The dealership’s license has been suspended for one month as a result.
Just last week, in the final Test at The Oval against England, Akash Deep played a key innings in the second innings, scoring 66 runs off 94 balls with the help of 12 fours, contributing significantly to India’s victory.
The black Toyota Fortuner purchased by Akash Deep is worth ₹62 lakh, and his acquisition drew congratulations from many on social media, including Suryakumar Yadav. Recently operated on for a sports hernia, Suryakumar wrote in the media, congratulating Akash Deep: “Bahut bahut badhaai.”
