After social media uproar over Rohit-Kohli, ICC forced to issue clarification!

Dubai: Indian cricket’s two stalwarts, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who are currently enjoying a vacation with their families, were caught in an unexpected storm on Wednesday after the International Cricket Council (ICC) made a shocking error that startled their millions of fans.

In the latest ODI batting rankings released by the ICC, both Rohit and Kohli’s names suddenly disappeared from the Top-5 list, despite being among the highest-ranked players. The blunder immediately triggered chaos across social media, with fans speculating whether the legends had secretly retired from ODIs.

The ICC later admitted it was a technical mistake that led to the omission. A spokesperson clarified that their names had been erroneously left out, and soon the corrected rankings restored Rohit at No.2 and Kohli at No.4, their original positions.

Rohit and Kohli have already retired from T20 Internationals and Test cricket, but neither has given any hint about stepping away from ODIs. Their sudden exclusion, therefore, shocked fans worldwide.

Both last played in the 2025 Champions Trophy in February, where Rohit’s match-winning performance in the final helped India lift the trophy after a decade. Kohli also impressed during the league stage of the tournament.

A small technical glitch by ICC, but a massive scare for Indian cricket fans!
