During the Pakistan versus England Super 8 encounter at Pallekele International Stadium in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 on Tuesday, a heated confrontation erupted between supporters of the two teams. A viral video circulating on social media captured the incident, showing a Pakistan fan named Saud engaged in an intense verbal exchange with an English supporter. The argument quickly escalated, prompting several local Sri Lankan fans to intervene and separate the pair before the situation worsened.
The footage, which has drawn widespread attention online, features Saud the same Pakistan supporter who reportedly had a prior run-in with an Australian fan earlier in the tournament facing accusations of provoking and intimidating opposing supporters throughout the competition. Australian influencer Jake Jennings shared the clip and labeled Saud a “serial offender,” urging the International Cricket Council (ICC) to address the behavior. In his post on X, Jennings remarked, “Play silly games, win silly prizes. Serial offender. Time for the @ICC to take a stand.”
Saud, however, presented a different account of the events. He asserted that the English fan approached him first and acted inappropriately. According to Saud, the individuals involved were acquaintances of Jennings, and he alleged that they threw beer on him, sparking the physical scuffle.

The on-field action saw England secure a tense two-wicket victory over Pakistan in Pallekele, virtually eliminating the Men in Green from semifinal contention. Captain Harry Brook delivered a standout performance with his maiden T20 World Cup century, propelling England to become the first side to book a place in the last-four stage of the tournament.

Pakistan’s campaign has faltered significantly. Their opening Super 8 fixture against New Zealand was abandoned due to rain, yielding only one point. The defeat to England leaves them on the same solitary point, with just one remaining group match against Sri Lanka. To stay alive in the competition, Pakistan must claim a win in that fixture and hope for favorable outcomes in other results.
