India vs Namibia T20 World Cup 2026: India Crush Namibia By 93 Runs In Delhi To Seal Second Group A Win

India registered their second Group A victory of the T20 World Cup 2026 with a commanding 93-run win over Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Powered by Ishan Kishan’s explosive 24-ball 61, Hardik Pandya’s 27-ball 52, and Varun Chakravarthy’s devastating spell of 3/7, India delivered a dominant all-round performance to stamp their authority early in the tournament.
Batting first after losing the toss, India posted 209/9 despite moments of instability during their innings. Suryakumar Yadav was stumped for 12, while Tilak Varma departed soon after. However, Hardik’s timely half-century ensured India crossed the 200-run mark. Even though five wickets fell in the final overs, contributions from the lower order kept the total competitive.
Kishan set the tone from the outset, launching an aggressive assault on the Namibian bowlers. He brought up a rapid 20-ball fifty with clean hitting all around the ground. After Sanju Samson provided a brisk start before his early dismissal, Kishan continued to dominate while Tilak steadied the innings at the other end. The duo guided India to a commanding 86/1 at the end of the Powerplay.
Abhishek Sharma remained unavailable due to fitness concerns as India made two changes for the Namibia clash. Sanju Samson slotted into the XI, while Jasprit Bumrah returned in place of Mohammed Siraj. The reshuffled batting order was tested after India were asked to bat first, but the side responded effectively.
In reply, Namibia struggled to build momentum against disciplined Indian bowling. Chakravarthy’s triple strike dismantled the middle order, and Axar Patel struck twice in quick succession to leave Namibia reeling with half their side back in the pavilion. Chakravarthy finished with figures of 3/7, while Axar’s double blow compounded Namibia’s troubles as they were bowled out for 116. India’s bowlers maintained relentless pressure throughout to secure a comprehensive victory.
India had opened their campaign with a win over the USA, but the team will be aiming to sharpen combinations and elevate overall performance ahead of tougher challenges. The management may treat the Namibia contest as an opportunity to fine-tune plans before the high-voltage clash against Pakistan on February 15. In their previous outing, India were not at their best with the bat, as apart from Suryakumar Yadav, none of the top-order batters managed to build momentum or play a defining knock, resulting in a total below their usual standards. The bowlers, however, ensured a comfortable win by keeping the opposition under control.
Abhishek Sharma’s recent health scare remains a concern. The young opener was hospitalised for a couple of days due to a stomach infection and viral fever before being discharged on Wednesday. The team management is expected to manage his recovery carefully, especially with the crucial Pakistan encounter scheduled for Sunday.
Jasprit Bumrah appears set for a comeback after missing the previous match due to minor fitness issues. The star pacer has returned to full training ahead of the Namibia fixture and bowled at good intensity in the nets. During one session, a sharp yorker from Bumrah struck Ishan Kishan on the knee, prompting a brief check by the physio. Kishan soon resumed practice, easing concerns within the camp. With Bumrah looking match-ready, he is likely to be included in the playing XI, while Mohammed Siraj—despite delivering a solid performance against the USA—could make way as India look to strengthen their pace attack and build momentum deeper into the tournament.
