Mumbai Traffic Police Advisory For India vs England T20 Semi-Final At Wankhede Stadium

Mumbai: The Mumbai Traffic Police have released a traffic advisory ahead of the highly anticipated T20 semi-final between India national cricket team and England cricket team at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 5. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 pm, with stadium gates opening to spectators at 4 pm.

Authorities expect a significant turnout for the crucial fixture, which may lead to traffic congestion around the Marine Drive area and nearby roads. To minimise disruption and ensure smooth movement of vehicles, the traffic police have advised motorists to plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes wherever possible.

Officials have also strongly recommended that spectators attending the match rely on public transportation rather than private vehicles. Using local trains and metro services is expected to help reduce traffic pressure near the stadium and make access easier for fans arriving for the match.

As per the reports, spectators travelling by Western Railway can get down at either Churchgate or Marine Lines railway stations, both located close to the stadium. Those opting for the metro can use Churchgate station on the Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line.

The traffic police have also issued gate-specific travel instructions for fans to ensure smoother entry into the stadium. Spectators with tickets for gates 1, 2 and 7 have been advised to use Churchgate railway station or Churchgate metro station and approach the venue through E Road. Fans entering through gates 3 and 4 should use Marine Lines station and access the stadium via the foot overbridge near the Roopkala showroom on Maharshi Karve Road.

Meanwhile, spectators heading to gates 5 and 6 can reach via Churchgate station and use the foot overbridge on Maharshi Karve Road opposite the Income Tax Office. The Mumbai Traffic Police have appealed for public cooperation to maintain orderly traffic movement during the event.
