Mumbai : Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, who shared the stage with his cousin Raj Thackeray after 18 years of differences, said that the two have now come together to stay together. I want to tell you all that us coming together is just a trailer. This is just the beginning, he added.
Earlier, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Raj Thackeray addressed the event and said CM Fadnavis managed to do what Balasaheb Thackeray could not – bring myself and Uddhav together. Further referring to the upcoming elections in 29 municipal corporations in Mumbai, the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief confidently said, I and Raj Thackeray will capture power in Mumbai civic body and Maharashtra.
These statements were made when the two cousins reunited on Saturday to celebrate the Maharashtra government’s rollback of Hindi as an optional third language. The joint victory gathering, where the two estranged cousins reunited, was titled ‘Awaj Marathicha’.
To celebrate this triumph of Marathi unity, the two parties are holding a rally at the NSCI Dome in Worli. The event drew thousands of Marathi enthusiasts, writers, poets and supporters of both parties, marking a major landmark in Maharashtra’s shifting political landscape.
