Tragic Truck Crash Claims Lives on Pune Highway

A devastating accident on the old Pune-Mumbai highway near Lonavla hill station in Maharashtra left three people dead and 12 others injured when a truck plowed into five vehicles, police reported on Monday.

The collision occurred at 10:20 pm on Sunday at Battery Hill near Bor Ghat. According to authorities, the truck experienced a brake failure while navigating a downhill slope, causing it to veer out of control and strike multiple vehicles.

Senior Inspector Suhas Jagtap of Lonavla police station confirmed that the victims included a 10-year-old girl, her father, who were traveling in a car, and one other individual.

The 12 injured were promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment, Jagtap added.
