Suspected Terror Link: Man Wearing Bulletproof Gear Arrested Near Pahalgam Attack Site

Security forces detained a suspicious individual during a cordon and search operation in the Baisaran Valley forest area near Pahalgam on Monday, according to reports. The man, identified as Ahmed Bilal, was reportedly found wearing a bulletproof jacket cover, raising immediate concerns.
Upon interrogation, Bilal failed to provide clear or consistent answers regarding his presence in the area and was unable to explain the source of the bulletproof gear. Following the initial questioning, he was handed over to the police for further investigation.
On the same day, authorities apprehended a 26-year-old Pakistani national along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. However, no incriminating items were recovered from him at the time of arrest.
Asia News Observer reported that police are currently evaluating Ahmed Bilal’s mental health after assuming custody from the security forces.
This development follows a recent arrest of a 23-year-old Tangmarg resident, who is suspected of assisting the terrorists involved in the April 22 Pahalgam attack that resulted in the deaths of 26 people, most of whom were tourists.
