Students jump off balconies after massive fire in Girls’ hostel, shocking video goes viral | WATCH

The fire took place in Greater Noida, teen girls injured trying to escape.

A fierce fire erupted on Thursday evening at the Annapurna Girls Hostel in Knowledge Park-3, Greater Noida, sparking panic among residents. Eyewitnesses reported that two students, trapped on the second floor, resorted to jumping in their desperate bid to escape the flames.

Local residents swiftly intervened, using a ladder to help rescue the stranded girls. During the rescue, one student lost her footing while attempting to reach the ladder; however, the fire department confirmed that she did not suffer any serious injuries and is now safe.

Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Choubey informed India Today that the emergency call was received at approximately 5 pm on Thursday. “We were alerted to the incident at Annapurna Girls Hostel in Knowledge Park-3 and immediately dispatched our team. Our FSO was also present to assist on the scene,” he explained.

Choubey added that by the time the fire brigade arrived, all occupants had already evacuated the building. “There have been no fatalities, and all necessary legal actions are being initiated,” he said.

The blaze was reportedly triggered by an explosion in the hostel’s air conditioning unit, which allowed the fire to spread rapidly throughout the premises, leading to the dramatic rescue efforts witnessed on video.
