Teen’s Ordeal Unveiled: Six Arrested in Varanasi Gang-Rape Case

Authorities in Varanasi have apprehended six of seven suspects linked to the alleged gang-rape of a 19-year-old girl in the Lalpur Pandeypur area, according to police reports. The incident came to light after a series of events unfolded over several days, culminating in a formal complaint filed by the victim’s family.

Vidush Saxena, Additional Commissioner of Police, Cantonment, revealed that the young woman had left with a group of youths on March 29. When she failed to return home, her family reported her missing to the police on April 4. Although she was located by authorities, she initially made no mention of the assault, Saxena noted.

It wasn’t until April 6 that the survivor’s family lodged a gang-rape complaint with the police. The teenager later disclosed to investigators that between March 29 and April 4, the accused had taken her to various hotels and hookah bars, where they allegedly assaulted her repeatedly, the officer stated. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to search for the seventh suspect in the case.
